The difference between a normal rumble strip and the patented DriveOn V-Tech system from Ecogreen Plant Hire.

A typical rumble strip has (at best) equal surface area and space, so mud that is dislodged is less likely to fall through, the system can clog easily, and following wheels are easily re-contaminated.

The transverse bars on the DriveOn V-Tech are 30mm wide and spaced at 200mm centres. The wider spaced, slimmer bars create more vibration and tyre-flex, so more mud is removed and because there is up to 60% less surface area the mud falls through into the void below. The bars will carry up to 50 tonnes gross vehicle weight. Every fifth bar is raised to give an extra jolt, to help remove contaminants from the chassis and underside of the vehicle.
